Tips For Chosing The Perfect Personal Organizer
Personal organization is one of the most important traits that anyone can have. No matter how talented, how brilliant, or how ambitious you are, if you are not able to organize yourself, you will not get anywhere. For many people, a traditional personal organizer is not enough. I myself struggled with personal organizers for many years, but was largely unsuccessful. I would put stuff into the personal organizer and forget where it went. I would miss appointments, forget names and numbers, and double schedule things. Personal organizers helped me a little bit, but they were not enough to overcome my serious deficits in organizational skills. Then I got a personal digital organizer, and that rocked my world.
I had been thinking about getting a digital personal organizer for a long time. I had tried personal organizer software, and have had some success for it. The software organizer personal was great – it was even better than the PDA I later got. The problem with it was that I could not take it on the road with me. If I didn't have it with me, I would have to use two personal organizers – one to write things in when I was on the go, and the other to record them in when I got home. It was simply too complicated a system to use. I ended up getting rid of the personal organizer software and just using my personal datebook.
Nonetheless, it was great to finally be able to get rid of my address book organizer. When I got my personal digital assistant, I was overjoyed. It took a few days to learn – they are not quite as easy as the manufacturers would want you to believe – but even still, it was worth the time and effort. The personal organizer was actually pretty intuitive, and even someone who was not very good with computers could probably pick it up in a couple days.
Nonetheless, a digital personal organizer is not really something for everyone. If you are the type of person who loses things all the time, you should definitely avoid it. When you lose your personal organizer, it is a big inconvenience. When you lose your PDA, it is also a big expense. Unless you are reasonably sure that you can keep track of your PDA without ever loosing it, you should use a normal personal planner. After all, personal planners cost very little to replace.
